CONCERTS

There are regularly concerts in the Old Church, Kinloch Rannoch, throughout the year, run by Music in Rannoch, with talented singers and musicians from far and wide.

Next Concert:
Sunday August 11th
15.00 Sally Simpson (fiddle) and Catriona Hawksworth (piano)
The Old Church of Rannoch

Catriona Hawksworth and Sally Simpson's musical friendship goes back to their early teens when they met through the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Junior Academy programme. Since then, their passion for traditional music has taken them to study at the National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music, the RCS Scottish Music degree (Sally) and Newcastle University Folk Degree (Catriona), with both choosing to spend a year on exchange in Sweden to explore other musical traditions. 2017 saw the release of their debut album, ‘DUO’.  Together they work for Live Music Now Scotland, using music to forge connections in social care settings, as well as playing in all-female folk party-band Heisk.

In their duo playing they explore the music that they most care about, creating a tender interplay between fiddle and piano and celebrating influences as varied as Swedish polskas, Highland strathspeys, and even a Chilean protest tune!

Admission £10.00 payable at the door. Free entry for children. Refreshments  - (wine, soft drinks, nibbles)  - served during the interval.
