16th MARCH 2018 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Old Church of Rannoch
Concert by The Scottish Clarinet Quartet
The Scottish Clarinet Quartet (Frances Barker, Sally Day, Nicola Long and Alex South) has enjoyed success as Scotland's foremost clarinet quartet since 2002, performing for music societies across the UK, and at festivals including the World Bass Clarinet Convention (Rotterdam), ClarinetFest (Assisi), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Sound. With support from Creative Scotland and other funding bodies the group has commissioned widely, resulting in new works from David Fennessy, Sadie Harrison, Anna Meredith, Matt Rogers, Oliver Searle, Tom David Wilson and others.
The quartet's visit to Kinloch Rannoch will include running a workshop for the children at the primary school, and, in the evening, giving a concert in The Old Church. The programme promises to be lively and engaging, and the group's versatility in a range of styles, from classical to jazz, from Latin American to klezmer music is not to be missed!
Admission £8 at the door. Refreshments served during the interval. All welcome.
